Automation in the service of French sawmills
FROMM Pack, a Swiss group specializing in strapping and bundling, equips 90% of French sawmills with its automatic strapping machines, according to Arnaud Lévêque, sales director of FROMM France. Historically focused on Scandinavian sawmills, the group has been developing a strong activity in France for over 30 years, collaborating with clients such as Monnet-Sève, Siat, and Piveteau. The group stands out with custom machines tailored to the specific constraints of sawmills, allowing optimal management of production lines and the specifics of the wood to be packaged.

In the face of labor shortages and a high turnover rate in sawmills, the automation of packaging and wrapping is becoming a strategic solution. Arnaud Lévêque observes that crisis periods, such as the pandemic, have accelerated this trend, as automation is seen as a logical response to both recruitment difficulties and the growing demand for productivity. FROMM invests 3% of its annual revenue in research and development, thus enabling the introduction of innovations such as automatic labeling, robotization for the placement of battens, and automated grooving.
On-site support and complete solutions
In addition to its technical innovations, FROMM France focuses on comprehensive on-site support. Based in Dijon, the company ensures installation, training, maintenance, and monitoring of equipment throughout France, thereby guaranteeing the sustainability and optimization of installations.
