Frankfurt Tower

The former 1931 observation tower fell victim to arson in October 2017, leaving an open wound in the Frankfurt forest and in the hearts of its inhabitants.

The rebuilding of this 43-metre-high public observation tower was carried out with a structure of glued laminated chestnut beams. That choice was the obvious one for its durability, its stability and its ability to be used outdoors without requiring preservative treatment. The timber used is FSC certified and complies with the CE standards of the Otto Graf Institute at the MPA in Stuttgart.
