Maison Rouge (Musée des Vallées Cévenoles), Nîmes

This refurbishment and extension of the Maison Rouge silk mill was designed to house the Musée des Vallées Cévenoles. Carried out by Vurpas Architects, it respects the industrial heritage of the building while providing a modern, functional space. The architecture draws on the local terroir and the surrounding countryside, incorporating a chestnut lattice facade as a sunshade, a material rooted in local history.
