Glued laminated timber beams

Glulam & glued solid timber
Description
Glued laminated timber beams offer an optimal building solution, combining strength, good looks and durability. They are designed to answer requirements of load, of dimensional stability and of appearance. Their maximum moisture content of 12% keeps them from shrinking, moving and splitting. Stronger and stiffer than solid timber beams of the same species, they make it possible to build large unsupported spaces with slimmer structural elements. These beams are available in chestnut, iroko and spruce, giving a unique look, perfect for structural as well as decorative projects. Applications House building Renovation Industrial and commercial construction Landmark buildings Advantages Greater strength than solid timber beams Controlled moisture content avoiding shrinkage and splits Natural and noble appearance Ideal for long spans with no intermediate support Technical performance Bending strength: 30 N/mm2 Tensile strength: 20 N/mm2 Compressive strength: 45 N/mm2 Shear strength: 5 N/mm2 Modulus of elasticity: 13 000 N/mm2 Shear modulus in sliding: 810 N/mm2 Shear modulus in rolling: 65 N/mm2 Density: 540 kg/m3 Standard dimensions available (in mm) Length: up to 13 500 mm Height: from 80 mm to 400 mm Width: from 70 mm to 220 mm Other dimensions and species available on request.
