Shaper Collet Set

Description

The Shaper Collet Set completes the routing tooling for the Shaper Origin spindle. It clamps cutters of the matching shank diameter precisely and concentrically, which is what keeps run-out to a minimum and the surface finish even. It is designed specifically for the Shaper spindle (SM1 / SM-1) and is fitted using the tool-change accessories supplied with the machine. Regular cleaning of the inside of the collet is recommended, since a build-up of material reduces clamping efficiency and can throw the cutter out of alignment. The manufacturer advises against using adaptors or reducing sleeves to take cutters of a different shank size. An essential item for running a wide range of cutters on the Shaper Origin router.
