Saga Farmann – On the Vikings' route

The Durieu Group is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Since its creation, its mission has been to enhance and protect materials. Sharing know-how is an essential value of the group.

The Saga Farmann is a Viking longship. It is the exact replica of a ship found sunk in a fjord. This merchant vessel dates back to the year 998.

The Saga Farmann team wanted to bring this ship back to life. The project respects Viking construction methods. One exception: the ship also has electric propulsion.

In 2025, the Saga Farmann sailed from Rome to London. This route is called "Saga Lundenwic". It crosses several countries between the Mediterranean and the North Sea.

The Durieu Group is a patron of this project. Its Owatrol brand protects the ship's wood. The DEKS OLJE D.1 saturator withstands extreme marine conditions.
