Owatrol

Owatrol is a French brand of finishing and protective products for wood, metal, and other surfaces. Owatrol is published and manufactured by the Durieu Group, a family business founded in 1923 by Georges Durieu and now led by the fourth generation of the family. The Owatrol brand was created in 1963, when the European manufacturing license for the rustproofing product at the origin of the range was entrusted to the Norwegian company Olsen & Wang. The group has production sites in France, including the Bondoufle facilities in the Paris region and an industrial tool established in northern France since 2012. Its products are distributed in around forty countries. Owatrol has specialized in solutions for preparing, maintaining, and protecting surfaces, with expertise historically rooted in the chemistry of automotive care products. The brand highlights French manufacturing and the continuous development of its formulations, notably based on vegetable oils for its wood products. On the wood side, the range covers all treatment steps: cleaners and graying removers, strippers, repair products, saturators, as well as finishes in oils, waxes, stains, lacquers, and varnishes. Among the flagship products are the Textrol and Aquadecks saturators, the Floetrol additive, and the Polytrol renovator. Owatrol also offers products dedicated to metal, marine, automotive, and decoration. In terms of commitments, the Durieu Group states that it manufactures its products in France and reports several certifications, including ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment), OHSAS 18001 (safety), the Ecolabel, and the NF Environnement label.
