For 100 years, the Durieu group has been providing cutting-edge solutions for the preparation and protection of wood, metal, as well as technical paints and special paint additives. Since 2018, Durieu has also offered a unique solution for the insulation of facades and roofs with its Thermacote line. Founded in 1923, the family company started with an import/export business for automotive parts and grew over the decades through human encounters and numerous projects. It quickly launched the Transyl penetrating oil in 1933, followed by the Rustol anti-rust product in 1956, the Owatrol range with the first softwood saturator Textrol on the French market in 1978, then the exotic wood saturator Decks Olje D1 and the first water-based saturator Aquatrol. From the 1990s onwards, the wood maintenance ranges continued to expand to offer a high-quality, highly targeted selection. In 2008, the group acquired the brands Owatrol, De Keyn, and Linitop. In 2012, Durieu equipped itself with a new production tool in northern France and took over the OXI brand. From 2017 onwards, all the group's products have been distributed in over 50 countries. Starting in 2021, the development of bio-based products accelerated, and R&D intensified to find relevant and sustainable solutions. In parallel with its industrial activities, the group chose to create partnerships with associations that resonate with its DNA. Thus, Durieu has been planting trees with Eco tree since 2018 (4,833 to date) and has supported Wings Of The Ocean since its creation in 2018 to clean up coastlines, shores, and seabeds. Contributing to reforestation and supporting boats whose mission is to clean up the coasts aligns perfectly with the group's commitment to protecting wood and ensuring the sustainability of wood supports and beyond.
