Campus Mutsaard

Campus Mutsaard, in Laeken (Brussels), is a Dutch-speaking school complex bringing together a nursery, a kindergarten and primary school, a secondary school and two sports halls.

This modern building accommodates: – a nursery for 72 children, – a primary school for 456 pupils, – a secondary school for 288 pupils.

The architecture by low architecten aims to improve the quality of teaching by incorporating outdoor spaces conceived as more than mere playgrounds. The external cladding in LDCwood® ThermoWood® pine, treated with the Burnblock® flame retardant, offers optimal fire safety while meeting environmental and aesthetic standards.

Winner of the Be.exemplary Award in 2018, this project embodies a model of sustainable, exemplary urban development in Brussels.
