Accoya used for a bespoke landscaping project in Paris

In Paris, near the Place Vendôme, the courtyard of an office building has been turned into an urban oasis through a bespoke scheme combining Accoya wood with steel. The project was designed by the architects of BSTLL, with PILGRIM as project manager, and made by Ateliers Georges Mahot, a French family firm founded in 1947 specialising in street furniture and outdoor fit-out. Rectangular and circular benches surrounding the trees, planters and bespoke seating make up this elegant, functional space. Accoya was chosen for its resistance to changing weather, its dimensional stability with no distortion, its longer life than tropical hardwoods and how easily it can be machined, allowing complex curved cuts.
