Description

This villa enjoys an idyllic setting at the heart of the island of Antiparos, in the Cyclades, surrounded by nature with views over the Aegean. Accoya wood was chosen for the window frames, the shutters and the gate of the house. Extremely stable, it is an ideal substrate for external joinery and for finishes, including dark paints, which last considerably longer despite the Greek heat and strong sunshine. Its suitability for external joinery has been validated by FCBA. With natural durability class 1 and a 50-year guarantee against rot, Accoya outperforms the best exotic hardwoods by avoiding swelling and shrinkage; this stability can halve or even divide by three the maintenance costs of paints and woodstains. Its thermal coefficient (lambda 0.12), more than 20% better than that of most hardwoods, also improves the insulation of the house’s windows and doors.
