Homerton College – University of Cambridge

The dining hall at Homerton College, University of Cambridge, was named best new timber building in the United Kingdom at the Wood Awards 2022. Designed by the practice Feilden Fowles, this impressive dining hall was built with glued laminated chestnut beams supplied by Siero Lam. The structure has no intermediate supports, allowing a vast clear space. The result is warm, elegant and impressive: bright and spacious by day, it becomes a ceremonial setting by night, combining the traditional elegance of collegiate halls with the potential of timber as a structural material.
