Homes of the future, Accoya cladding at Granville Place

The development of 64 luxury private apartments at Granville Place, in north London, is one of the most advanced construction projects in Britain in environmental terms. To meet government codes for sustainable homes, Accoya wood, from sustainably managed forests, was used as cladding throughout the project, supplied by Arnold Laver Timberworld. With its class 1 durability and its exceptional dimensional stability, Accoya offers major environmental advantages over unsustainable slow-growing hardwoods. The project architect, Tom Robinson, notes that this is the first scheme to reconcile market expectations with a sustainability objective: rooms flooded with light, outdoor space for every home, and a perfect finish thanks to Accoya, whose Cradle to Cradle Gold accreditation was decisive.
