Private dock, Horseshoe Bay, Lake LBJ

This private dock sits on Lake LBJ at Horseshoe Bay, Texas. The existing structure had deteriorated and needed its walking surfaces to be rebuilt entirely.

Works covered the dock decking, the boat slip area and the access stairs, all rebuilt in Kebony Clear decking boards. Structures of this kind face demanding conditions: frequent contact with water, alternating wetting and drying, strong solar exposure and barefoot use.

Kebony modified wood was chosen for its dimensional stability and durability in wet conditions, obtained by impregnation with a bio-based liquid, and for the absence of any finish to reapply. The refurbishment extends the dock's service life without imposing annual maintenance on the owners. Supply: TimberTown Austin.
