Biofib isolation

Biofib Isolation is a French brand of bio-based insulation materials made from plant fibres (hemp, flax, cotton). This brand is supported by Cavac Biomaterials, an organization originating from the Vendée agricultural cooperative Cavac. The bio-based insulation activity based on hemp and flax began in the late 2000s. The industrial site is located in Vendée, in Sainte-Hermine (head office address) with a production unit in Saint-Gemme-la-Plaine. The raw materials are grown and harvested less than 100 km from the manufacturing site. The core business is based on processing plant fibres, with hemp being the brand’s flagship raw material. The company states that it controls its supply chain from field to jobsite, following a short supply-chain approach, which makes it one of the few players to cover the entire chain. The range includes semi-rigid boards and rolls for thermal and acoustic insulation, including Biofib'Trio (hemp, flax, cotton), Biofib'Chanvre, Biofib'Cloison and Biofib'Paille (wheat straw). It also includes loose-fill insulation for blowing or injection (the Jetfib range, including Jetfib'Ouate and Jetfib'Duo), hemp shiv for hempcrete (Biofib'Chènevotte) and a hygrovariable vapour barrier (Biofib'Control). Several products are ACERMI certified, and the brand highlights natural and renewable insulation materials, rated A+ for VOC emissions.
