Scierie Dubot

Scierie Dubot is a French family sawyer specializing in the processing of Massif Central Douglas fir. Based in Saint-Avit, in the Puy-de-Dôme (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), the company is a family business passed down over five generations. Its origins go back to the late 19th century with a mobile sawmill founded by Jean-Johannes Dubot, before it settled permanently in Saint-Avit in 1945. Specialization in softwood sawing began in 1978, followed by successive modernizations: new sawing lines, a drying unit created in 2011 and a planing line commissioned in 2017. The integrated industrial site now covers 14 hectares. The company positions itself as a leading European supplier of Douglas fir, the species on which it has built its know-how for more than forty years. It sources locally, within a radius of about 100 km, and claims a production capacity of 250,000 m³ of logs per year. The range covers construction timber, roof-structure timber, frame timber, pallet timber, dried planed wood (BRS) and glued laminated wood, complemented by industrial and wood-energy products. Spruce is also among the species worked. Scierie Dubot frames its business within a sustainable forest-resource management approach and makes use of its by-products. Its Douglas-fir products are PEFC-certified, carry CE marking and the Bois de France mark. The company works with industry bodies such as the CNPF, the ONF and Fibois AURA.
