Joubert Plywood

Joubert Plywood is a French plywood manufacturer specializing in poplar and okoumé. Founded in 1930 by André Joubert around a sawmill in Les Eliots, in the Charente (Nouvelle-Aquitaine), the company remains based in this region, with a second industrial site in Saint-Jean-d'Angély (Charente-Maritime) and a peeling unit in Port-Gentil, in Gabon. Long a family group run by Thierry Joubert, it joined the Japanese group Nankai Plywood in October 2025. It employs around 350 people and exports a large part of its production. The core business is the manufacture of plywood panels, from peeling the logs to the finished panel. The company masters several processing stages and has built its know-how on two emblematic species: poplar, from European poplar plantations, and okoumé, from Gabon. The range is structured around several lines: Joubert Okoumé and Joubert Poplar for standard panels, Joubert Expression for ready-to-finish panels, Joubert Façade Premium for exterior cladding, Joubert Industry for industrial uses and Joubert Marine for boating. Applications cover fit-out, furniture, doors, vehicle fitting, roofing, cladding and shipbuilding. Joubert frames its business within a sustainable forest-management approach, with FSC- and PEFC-certified wood. Its production also carries CE marking, the NF Extérieur CTB-X mark, Lloyd's Register approval (BS 1088:2018) for marine plywood, the A+ emissions label and CARB ULEF certification.
