LEUCO is a German manufacturer of carbide and diamond cutting tools for woodworking, plastics and composite materials. Based in Horb am Neckar, in Baden-Wrttemberg, the company was founded in 1954 by businessman Willi Ledermann and engineer Josef Strzer under the name Ledermann & Co., giving rise to the LEUCO brand. More than 70 years later, LEUCO has around 1,200 employees worldwide, with 20 subsidiaries in 17 countries and 93 commercial partners across 64 countries; around 70% of its revenue is generated internationally. LEUCOs core business is the design and manufacture of carbide- and diamond-tipped machine tools for the entire processing chain of wood, wood-based panels, plastics and composite materials. The range covers circular saw blades, indexable-insert and shank cutters, drill bits, clamping systems and reversible inserts, as well as milling, drilling and counterboring tools with high-performance coatings for machining modern composites (carbon fiber, glass fiber). The company complements its offering with resharpening services, application consulting and tool management ("tool management"). LEUCO addresses sawmills, the construction sector, the furniture and panel industries, interior fit-out, as well as composite processors (automotive, aerospace, lightweight construction). The company is ISO 9001 certified (quality management, since 1995) and ISO 50001 certified (energy management, since 2016), and has received several international awards, including the German Innovation Award (2018, 2019) for its LEUCO p-System and AirStream-System, as well as the German Brand Award (2016, 2017, 2018).
