Rougier

Niort · France
Rougier is a French forestry and industrial group specializing in the harvesting, processing and marketing of certified African tropical timber. Founded in 1923 in Niort, where its headquarters are still located, the family-owned group has offices in Paris and has been listed on Euronext Growth Paris since 1959. It manages nearly 1.5 million hectares of FSC®-certified natural forests in the Congo Basin through its subsidiaries Rougier Gabon and Rougier Congo – Mokabi SAu, and employs around 1,500 people. Rougier’s core business is based on integrating the entire value chain: forest harvesting under a management plan, local first and second industrial processing in three mills (sawing, drying, peeling, plywood, glued laminated timber), then international marketing via Rougier Afrique International (RAI), which exports the brand to around fifty countries. The range includes logs (sawing, peeling, slicing), sawn timber and industrial sawn timber, kiln-dried or green sawn, okoumé plywood in the Okougreen and Ozigo ranges, glued laminated timber and finger-jointed solid blocks. It covers around forty tropical species, including okoumé, sapelli, sipo, tali, okan, padouk and azobé. Rougier highlights a responsible forest management approach: 100% of its production is FSC® or LegalSource™ certified, and Rougier Congo is the first operator in the Congo Basin to be certified Preferred by Nature under the European regulation against deforestation (EUDR).
