Soprema is a global industrial group specializing in the manufacture of waterproofing, thermal and acoustic insulation, roofing and building-greening solutions. Founded in 1908 by Charles Geisen in Strasbourg (with the creation of the famous “Mammouth” bituminous membrane), the company is now chaired by Pierre-Étienne Bindschedler. Its head office has historically been in Strasbourg, in the Bas-Rhin. A benchmark player internationally, Soprema employs more than 10,000 staff and operates around a hundred plants worldwide. Soprema's core business is protecting the building envelope and civil-engineering works. The product range is built around bituminous waterproofing membranes (Sopralène®), liquid waterproofing (Alsan®), synthetic membranes (FLAG®), synthetic insulation (polyurethane, extruded and expanded polystyrene), as well as bio-based insulation from the Pavatex® brand (wood-fibre panels) and Sopra-Cellulose® (cellulose wadding). Soprema strongly emphasizes its synergy with the wood sector through its Pavatex bio-based insulation range specially designed for timber-frame construction, its roof-greening systems (Sopranature®), the integration of photovoltaic solutions (Soprasolar®), as well as a committed circular-economy policy including the recycling of plastic and bituminous materials.
