Viroc Portugal

Viroc is a Portuguese manufacturer of wood-cement composite panels. The business is run by Viroc Portugal – Indústrias de Madeira e Cimento, S.A., a subsidiary of the Portuguese group Investwood, S.A. It originated in France in 1979 before being taken over and established in Portugal in 1992. The plant is based in Vale da Rosa, in Setúbal, where it celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. The Investwood group also includes Valbopan, S.A. (founded in 1988 in Famalicão da Nazaré), which manufactures the Valchromat and Valbopan MDF wood-fibre panels. Viroc's core business is manufacturing the Viroc panel, a Cement Bonded Particle Board (CBPB) made of a compressed, dried mix of pine wood particles and Portland cement. It combines the flexibility of wood with the strength and durability of cement, allowing a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. Production complies with the EN 634 and EN 13986 standards, and the panel carries CE marking. The range includes the basic Viroc panel (black and grey shades from 8 to 22 mm, or white, ochre, yellow and red in 12 mm), Viroc Formwork for permanent formwork, Viroc Floor and Viroc Floor A2 for floors and floor substrates, as well as the V-urban varnished finish, dedicated to ventilated facades and QB-certified with a CSTB Technical Assessment. The panel is used in facades, walls, floors, ceilings, furniture and urban development. The Viroc panel is available in FSC® and PEFC™ versions on request, and its datasheets are published in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. The Investwood group distributes its Viroc panels in many European countries and beyond, through a network of distributors and technical partners (screws, profiles, adhesives and varnishes).
