Afrormosia Sawn Timber 1
Hardwood lumber (boules & slabs)

Description

Afrormosia (Pericopsis elata), of the Leguminosae family, is a hardwood from West and Central Africa, found mainly in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Congo. Its heartwood, yellowish brown turning dark brown, recalls the appearance of teak; its grain is straight to interlocked and its texture fine. The species saws and planes easily, by hand as by machine, and glues well; pre-drilling is recommended, particularly in damp conditions. Its high natural durability (class 1-2) and its stability suit it to furniture, exterior and interior joinery, doors, windows, stairs, cladding and heavy-duty wood flooring. Callens African Woods offers it as hardwood sawn timber, from a supply chain under FSC® chain of custody.
