Afzelia pachyloba Sawn Timber 1
Hardwood lumber (boules & slabs)

Description

Afzelia (Afzelia pachyloba), of the Leguminosae family, belongs to the afzelia group, recognised for their excellent properties. This African species offers first-rate natural durability (class 1), high strength and good chemical resistance. Its grain is most often interlocked and its texture medium coarse to coarse. When machining dry timber, effective dust extraction is essential on account of the dust; pre-drilling is indispensable, and the timber may react in contact with metals. Gluing is good. Very durable and stable, it is used for exterior joinery, windows, doors, stairs and wood flooring. Callens African Woods offers it as hardwood sawn timber, from an FSC®-certified supply chain. This data sheet distinguishes the pachyloba from Afzelia bipindensis.
