Description
The Baljer & Zembrod RSTW sorting and cross-cutting carriage is the ideal solution for the log yards of medium-sized sawmills working long timber. From the cab, a single operator measures the log, cross-cuts it, sorts it and feeds the sawmill. The aim is to increase material yield: cutting to full lengths and the diameter measuring system record, while the log is being moved, all the data needed to optimise the cut. The carriage also has low operating costs compared with a diesel vehicle, thanks to its electric drive. Baljer & Zembrod created this machine — the first model was built in 1965 — and, with more than 2,000 carriages produced, the brand leads this speciality. The RSTW is aimed at sawmills that want to bring measuring, cross-cutting and sorting together on a single mobile station run by one operator.
