Hardwood lumber (boules & slabs)
Description
Limbali (Gilbertiodendron dewevrei), of the Leguminosae family, comes from tropical West and Central Africa. Its heartwood, pale and even red brown, shows a greenish or coppery sheen; the sapwood, 50 to 100 mm wide, is yellow white to light pinkish brown. The grain is straight, sometimes slightly interlocked, and the texture medium coarse to coarse. The species works well with suitable machines and tools; pre-drilling is advised and gluing is good. Of durability class 2, it is used in some countries for windows, doors and joinery. Callens African Woods offers it as hardwood sawn timber, within a range of African tropical hardwoods under FSC® chain of custody.
