A timber cocoon in Lumbin

© Blokiwood
The project
A contemporary 132 m² house built in 2018 at Lumbin, in the Isère, by Marie-Ange and Ludovic. A mixed render and timber cladding facade, large picture windows facing due south, heating by thermodynamic heat-recovery ventilation: this near-passive Blokiwood house, insulated with 20 cm of wood fibre, costs less to heat than their old flat. Weathertight in just three months.
