Acciona Sustainable Campus – Ombú

Ombú is an urban transformation project that brings a historic Madrid building back to life by incorporating sustainable, innovative solutions. This sustainable campus, designed by Foster+Partners and Ortiz.León, highlights the use of wood as a structural element, in particular with glued laminated chestnut beams from local FSC® and PEFC certified forests. Thanks to this approach, the project saves 1,600 tonnes of CO₂. By optimising the entry of natural light, the building also reduces its energy consumption, illustrating a model of environmentally respectful architecture.
