Public indoor pool in Kebony wood

The public indoor pool in Kebony wood is an exemplary project at Garbsen, near Hanover in Germany. After seven years of work, this 745 m² pool has reopened, offering six swimming lanes, a non-swimmers’ area and a space for toddlers. The stainless steel pool reflects the sunlight, contributing to the natural heating of the water, complemented by solar collectors.

The architecture practice Lohaus Carl Köhlmos chose Kebony Clear wood for several rest areas, totalling 200 m², as well as day beds.

This wood, developed in Norway, is treated in an environmentally friendly way to acquire the properties of tropical hardwoods while having a reduced carbon footprint.

Resistant to the weather and needing little maintenance, Kebony wood develops an elegant silver-grey patina over time, fitting harmoniously into this modern leisure space surrounded by nature.
