SEF

SEF is a French sawmill specializing in the sawing and processing of Scots pine. Founded in 1920, the company is based in Vitry-aux-Loges, in the Loiret, in the heart of one of the largest Scots-pine massifs in France. With more than a century of activity, it first supplied mine timber to the coalfields in the mid-20th century, before developing toward processing and outdoor developments. It now relies on two production units and three logistics bases (including a platform in Bordeaux) to deliver throughout the country. SEF's core business is based on control of the supply chain, from forest sourcing to marketing, with a strong specialization in Scots pine and Northern pine. The company has several autoclave treatment tunnels, including a 13-meter line installed in 2018, for the long-term protection of wood intended for outdoor use. The range covers joinery timber (boules and squared timber), packaging wood, and a wide range of outdoor developments: fencing, screens, boards, half-round poles, decking, cladding, roof structures and sleepers. SEF also offers imported exotic woods. The company processes PEFC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests, and applies CE marking to the relevant products. It ensures traceability through its declarations of performance (DoP), complies with the EUTR against illegal timber and is a member of the environmental chamber of the Le Commerce du Bois union.
