Bjelin

Bjelin is a Swedish manufacturer of densified wood flooring, produced using Woodura technology. The company is headquartered in Viken, Sweden, and manufactures its floors in its own factories in Sweden and Croatia. Its roots lie in the Pervan family, behind Välinge Innovation, a company founded in 1993 and known for inventing the first mechanical click system for parquet flooring. Bjelin and its sister company Välinge Innovation, whose technologies it exploits under license, share a common shareholder, Pervanovo Invest AB, which owns the entities Bjelin AB (Sweden) and Bjelin d.o.o. (Croatia). The core of Bjelin’s business is based on the patented Woodura technology, which combines a thin layer of real wood with a high-density core. The process makes it possible to obtain floors that are more durable than traditional engineered parquet and to produce more surface area from the same volume of wood. Bjelin controls several stages of the chain, from the production of veneer and lamellas to the manufacture of finished boards, notably at its Croatian sites (Ogulin, Otok, Bjelovar). The range includes Woodura hardened wood floors available in several formats, including XXL planks and herringbone installations, as well as a Nadura tile. The species offered include oak, ash, and walnut, with oak sourced in particular from Slavonia (Croatia). The floors also incorporate the group’s click-lock joining system. Bjelin highlights an FSC-certified European wood supply, with oak coming from the Spačva forest, and an approach aimed at maximizing the use of the entire log to limit waste.
