Guillemette & Cie is a French importer and distributor of timber, notably tropical and exotic woods. Based in Le Havre, the company has been trading timber since 1976 and is part of a family history it traces back to 1850. Its business covers importing, storage, distribution and brokerage. It claims a volume of around 10,000 m³ of timber imported and distributed per year and has nearly 7,000 m² of storage space spread across three sites. The company sources from suppliers committed to sustainable forest management and selects its timber upstream, in several sourcing regions around the world: Brazil, North America, Indonesia and Malaysia, Scandinavia, as well as Eastern Europe. It structures its offering around three stated values: expertise, reliability and trust. Its catalogue brings together around thirty species intended for multiple uses: interior and exterior joinery, decking, structural framing, flooring, plywood, veneer, cabinetmaking and shipbuilding. Among the species it works with are Itauba, Massaranduba, Merbau, Cumaru, Ipé, Garapa, Jatoba, Kapur and Teak. The products are notably offered in the form of sawn timber. Guillemette & Cie is FSC certified (BV-COC-083905) and PEFC certified (BVFR-PEFC-COC-1918985), certifications issued by Bureau Veritas. For its imports of Latin American timber, it ensures traceability compliant with the European EUTR regulation and applies a due diligence procedure. The company is also committed to an environmental charter.
