KNAPP is an Austrian manufacturer of assembly systems for wood. A family-owned Austrian company, KNAPP has been developing its solutions for around forty years: its founder, Friedrich Knapp, designed his first connector in 1977. Based in Austria, it handles the research, development and distribution of its systems and has an international presence, notably with representatives in Germany, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the United States. The company specializes in mechanical wood joining systems designed to be self-tightening, discreet or even invisible after installation, and removable without damage. Its field of application ranges from fine joinery, furniture and interior fittings through to staircases, timber framing and structural timber construction. The catalog includes several families of connectors, including RICON® S systems for wood sections from 100 mm, high-capacity MEGANT® connectors, DEKLICK cladding clips, the Walco Pipe solution and the MODULAR range dedicated to boxes and frames, complemented by an offering of screws, notably in stainless steel. These systems are installed using conventional tools. KNAPP connectors intended for construction benefit from European Technical Assessments (ETA) and CE marking, and some offer certified fire resistance, making them suitable for large-span timber engineering projects.
