ROCKWOOL is a Danish manufacturer of rock-wool insulation for building and industry. The ROCKWOOL group was born in 1937, when the Kähler family launched rock-wool production in Denmark in Hedehusene, near Copenhagen, where the global head office is still located. In France, the business is run by ROCKWOOL France SAS, headquartered in Paris and operating a historic production site in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines, in the Puy-de-Dôme. The group is also developing a new plant in the Soissonnais. The company transforms basalt, a volcanic rock, into rock wool for the thermal and acoustic insulation of buildings. It masters the entire process, from melting the rock to manufacturing panels, rolls and flakes, and highlights the fire and moisture resistance of its materials. The range covers roof insulation (flat roofs, pitched roofs, metal roofing), walls (exterior, interior, cavity walls), floors and ceilings, as well as technical applications such as fire protection or the treatment of ventilation networks. It comes in panels, rolls and loose materials, with references such as Deltarock, Rockacier or Rockplus. ROCKWOOL frames its business within a circular-economy approach and highlights the recyclable nature of rock wool. Sustainability is at the heart of its group strategy, which brings together several specialized brands (Rockfon, Rockpanel, Grodan).
