Scierie Crozat

Sawmill Crozat is a French hardwood sawmill, specializing in the sawing and processing of local species. Based in Neuilly-Saint-Front, in the Aisne department (Hauts-de-France), the company was founded in 1921 by Maurice, Fernand and Louis Crozat, three carpenters from Auvergne who came to take part in the post-war reconstruction of the region. Still family-run, it claims know-how passed down through five generations and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2021. The sawmill built its business around the sawing of French hardwoods, with oak taking a central place as early as the 1930s. It masters the entire chain, from the selection of logs at ONF public auctions and from partner private forests through to the finished product, including digitally assisted precision sawing, air drying and kiln drying, as well as NIMP15 phytosanitary treatment. The catalog covers construction timber (roof frameworks, squared timbers, beams, joists, floor joists, rafters), landscaping products (reconstituted or mixed packs, slabs, landscaping and railway sleepers, battens, stakes and posts) and industrial products (sawn timber, strips, sawdust, forest chips, bark, logs). The species worked include oak, chestnut, ash, beech, wild cherry and poplar. The company also offers custom cutting to list. Sawmill Crozat emphasizes local short supply chains and the recovery of its by-products. It has been PEFC certified since 2010 for responsible forest management.
