Description
BIGonDRY steaming chambers are intended to even out and slightly alter the colour of the timber, while eliminating the presence and the effects of pests, in order to make the material easier to work. They stand out for their airtight insulation and for a corrosion resistance suited to saturated steam environments, heavily laden with tannic acid, where the internal temperature can exceed 100 °C. The steam is delivered directly, through perforated stainless steel pipes placed under the stack, or indirectly, by evaporating the water held in immersed tanks heated by a thermal fluid. The installations are fed by steam, superheated water or diathermic oil boilers. A combined version provides steaming and drying in the same chamber, reducing running costs. A microprocessor system controls every stage of the cycle according to time and temperature, with programmes that can be saved and reused.
