Membranes & barriers
Description
A type A vapour control layer, watertight, made up of two polypropylene non-wovens framing a functional membrane, the whole being reinforced by a scrim. It is this reinforcement that defines the use of the product: the manufacturer describes it as ideal for blown insulation, a technique that puts the membrane under heavy mechanical load as the wall is filled. It also suits the design of breathable walls and rooms of low and medium humidity. The membrane creates the airtight internal envelope, protects the insulation from stray air movements, limits vapour diffusion so as to avoid internal condensation, and prevents moisture traps in frames and roof structures. It answers the DTU, CPT and Rage guides requiring a ratio of at least five between the Sd value of the internal wall layer and that of the external one, and complies with NF EN 13984.
