Description
Structural sawn timber produced by Schilliger from Swiss-grown spruce and fir, other species remaining available on request. The timber is graded C24, with design values to SIA 265, and falls under quality I — industrial, intended for works with reduced aesthetic requirements. Cross sections follow the producer's list; lengths run up to 8.00 m per list and up to 12.50 m on request only. The surface is supplied sawn, planing being subject to a surcharge. The standard conversion is a boxed-heart piece, the split-heart or heart-free versions being invoiced as an extra. The timber leaves green from the saw at over 30% moisture content, kiln drying to about 18% remaining available at extra cost. A colourless dip impregnation, preventive against insects and wood-destroying fungi, can be applied up to a maximum length of 10.00 m. Thermal conductivity λ = 0.13 W/(m·K), reaction to fire D-s2,d0 to EN 13501-1.
