Schilliger Bois is a sawmill and softwood processor, specializing in structural timber and CLT panels. Based in Volgelsheim, Alsace, the company is the French operation of the Swiss family-owned group Schilliger Holz, whose origins date back to 1861. The group operates sawmills in Switzerland, in Haltikon and Perlen, as well as at the Rhine site of Volgelsheim, complemented by drying, planing, gluing, and panel production units. The activity covers the entire second-processing chain: drying, planing, finger-jointing, and gluing of wood. Schilliger Bois therefore masters the manufacture of glued laminated timber and large-format solid wood panels, and has positioned itself as a key player in timber construction by relying on its own softwood resources. The company also has an engineering office to support building professionals, craftsmen, and architects. The range includes solid wood, glued laminated timber, CLT and MHP panels, CL-Therm panels combining CLT and wood-fiber insulation, flooring systems, planed timber products, and roundwood. The species processed are mainly Douglas fir, spruce, and fir. The company also offers customized processing, including planing and wood treatment. Schilliger Bois is FSC, PEFC, and CE certified, attesting to sourcing from sustainably managed forests and to the compliance of its structural products with European standards.
