Kilns
Description
The Cathild GCBT kiln (High Capacity, Low Temperature) is designed for high-performance drying of softwoods. Running continuously 24 hours a day, 365 days a year under a constant low-temperature climate, it offers a compromise between quality, energy management and speed, while halving handling, investment and consumption. Its large capacity, from 400 to 2,000 m³ of loading volume, allows different species and thicknesses to be mixed, with optimum drying of silver fir. The process does away with outdoor storage of green timber and the defects that result from it, as well as with dry timber sheds. Flexible enough to suit major industrial accounts as well as small merchants and craftsmen, the GCBT comes into its own where mechanical stability is paramount: it is a benchmark for engineered products, glulam, cross-bonded laminated timber, BMA and timber for framing and roof structures.
