Kilns
Description
The Cathild multi-zone mobile kiln is a patented innovation designed to dry timber continuously while keeping the quality of batch drying, with no kiln trucks. Its automated multi-zone concept allows loads to be prepared in masked time across several zones while the kiln runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which raises annual dry timber output by around 50%. Movement is fully automated and remotely supervised: opening the doors, disconnecting and reconnecting the services, lifting and traversing all take place without physical intervention, with half an hour of downtime between two cycles. Several kilns can be installed on the same line, and several lines in parallel. By automating the movement of timber between the sawmill and storage, the system removes handling operations, halves those costs and improves quality thanks to careful stacking and better airtightness.
