Description

The Cathild PK pre-dryer replaces the timber yard by speeding up air drying without depending on weather conditions. By bringing 100% of the timber into the pre-dryer, it protects sawn timber from the splits and discolouration caused by unsuitable storage and guarantees consistent quality. Drying is even, bringing all the timber to a uniform moisture content within ± 1%, which makes dry timber quickly available from pre-dried stock. Thanks to the multi-zone application, different species and thicknesses can dry simultaneously, and hardwoods can be sawn in any season then brought in immediately. The pre-dryer reduces capital tied up in dry timber stock, can treble the capacity of existing kilns and improves boiler efficiency thanks to a steady load. It is a benchmark in sawmilling, flooring, joinery and furniture manufacture.
