Also called Oregon Pine, Douglas fir is a softwood that Guillemette & Cie imports from its American and Canadian forestry partners. The manufacturer credits it with a broad range of uses: exterior and interior joinery, cladding and structural timber framing. This versatility makes it a timber sought after for framing as much as for the building envelope and fit-out. It is supplied as sawn timber cut to order, the sections being prepared to order according to the project. Sourcing comes from sustainably managed forests, the company having worked for decades with the major forestry groups of the boreal zone. FSC or PEFC certification remains reserved for batches identified as certified and is confirmed before ordering, product by product.
