Debarkers
Description
This floating-rotor debarker is fitted with a rotor that moves vertically and centres itself automatically according to the diameter of the logs. The timber is carried on fixed track chains and held by press rollers mounted in bogies on vertically moving stirrups, driven by hydraulic cylinders. All the movements are managed by a programmable controller that processes the signals from optical and ultrasonic sensors distributed around the machine. Its compact design lets it debark short billets just as efficiently as long logs, even bent ones. Two rotor diameters are available — 1000 and 1100 mm — for logs with a minimum diameter of 120 mm and a minimum length of 1.3 m. The rotors take five debarking arms with interchangeable carbide tools, pressed on by pneumatic bellows cylinders. Depending on species and diameter, debarking speeds range from 20 to 40 m/min.
