Wood paints
Description
White opaque water-based undercoat whose function is to block the migration of coloured wood extractives into the light-coloured finishing coats. Without it, the tannins and resins of certain species come through the paint and cause yellow or brown staining visible after a few weeks. The product is applied to interior and exterior timber due to receive an opaque finish: roof soffits, half-timbering, windows and fencing. Outdoors, the manufacturer states that it must be used together with the Koralan Imprägnier-Grund Weiß impregnating primer. The film obtained offers high opacity, a satin appearance and good weather resistance, while regulating the moisture of the substrate. The formulation meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3 on the safety of toys. Coverage: about 160 ml/m² in two to three coats.
