Kurt Obermeier GmbH is a German manufacturer of wood protection and finishing products, marketed under the KORA Holzschutz brand. Founded in 1948, originally as a distribution structure for Bayer AG, the company is now a third-generation family business, run from Bad Berleburg, in North Rhine-Westphalia. It employs around 180 people, operates two sites in Germany (Bad Berleburg and Duisburg) and has subsidiaries in Poland and Spain. Its business covers specialty chemistry, silicones (Korasilon brand) and wood protection. The KORA Holzschutz brand is the wood-dedicated division, with more than 75 years of experience. It serves craftsmen, building professionals, the wood-processing industry and specialized merchants, with an offer covering both exterior protection and interior finishing. The catalog is organized around four lines. Koralan groups water-based products (woodstains, oils, varnishes and paints), Koranol solvent-based solutions (impregnating woodstains and oils), Korasit protection salts against insects and fungi, and Koratect specialized treatments. Applications range from facades and cladding to terraces, windows, flooring and furniture, with a bespoke tinting service. The company frames its offer within a sustainable-construction approach and is a member of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).
