Description
The 250 BLX Optima brings together automatic traverse of the saw unit and the Optima frame, designed as a dust collector thanks to its tubular structure and the ducts between the battens. Pneumatic valves, triggered by presence detectors, open the collection only where the blade is working; a single 160 mm outlet leaves on the right-hand side of the machine. Larenn states that this arrangement brings exposure below 0.35 mg/m³ of dust over an 8 hour period, provided the saw is connected to a central extraction system or to a separate unit of at least 2 000 m³/h, interlocked with the machine and with a run-on delay at the end of the operation. A pressure switch shuts the installation down if the pressure drops too low and the saw stops on any fault in the extraction system. The 4 kW motor with electromagnetic brake drives a 250 mm carbide blade at 5 400 rpm for a 60 mm cut, with three feed speeds from 10 to 20 m/min. Four cutting sizes run from 3 100 × 1 900 mm to 7 100 × 2 200 mm.
