Description
The strength of a finger joint depends on the tool, the machine, the adhesive and the material working together: all these factors have to be matched. On the tooling side, Leitz finger-jointing cutters aim above all at profile accuracy. The fit of the fingers is exact and the design of the tool limits the risk of teeth breaking, thanks to a considered balance between toughness and hardness in the cutting material. The high-performance Marathon coating quadruples tool life compared with HS finger-jointing cutters and cuts machine downtime and maintenance costs by about 75 %. The profiles are designed to suit the application and the tools can be reground several times. They fit all the usual finger-jointing lines and suit softwoods as well as hardwoods. The cutting materials offered are HS, MC or carbide; standard versions are available from stock.
