Leitz is a German manufacturer of cutting tools and tooling systems for machining wood and wood-based materials. Founded in 1876 in Oberkochen, Germany, the company is an international family-owned group employing around 3,000 people and operating in more than 150 countries through 38 subsidiaries. In France, its activity is carried out by Leitz SARL, whose headquarters are located in Colmar, complemented by a network of sharpening centers and depots spread across the country. Leitz’s core business is the design and manufacture of precision tools for machining solid wood, wood-based materials, plastics, non-ferrous metals and composite materials. The company serves both industry and craftsmanship, in sectors such as flooring, interior joinery, furniture, timber construction, sawmilling, panel manufacturing, windows and façades. The range covers several tool families: circular saw blades, sizing tools, planing and profiling tools, mini-tenon tools, shank cutters for machining centers and routers, drill bits, clamping devices, as well as custom solutions for small batches and prototypes.
