Description
Planing mills are looking to eliminate open hydraulic clamping systems, which cause grease splashes on machines as well as on parts. This planing and profiling toolholder uses a closed hydraulic clamping system, fitted with a pressure gauge indicating the clamping pressure. Production stays clean, handling is simple, and grease consumption is minimal. A special surface treatment of the sleeve prevents seizing on the spindle and protects the tool body. Combined with Marathon-coated knives, the tool provides up to six times the cutting life of uncoated HS knives and reduces regrinding costs by around 80%. It accepts smooth 3 mm planing knives, serrated 5 mm knives, and serrated profiled 8 mm knives, in diameters from 135 to 400 mm. The design can be customized; the tool is intended for planers and four-sided machines, for softwoods and hardwoods.
