Description
Ordinary planing knives wear quickly and force repeated machine stops. MC33 knives carry a high-performance Marathon coating that multiplies tool life by six compared with uncoated HS knives, reduces maintenance effort by about 80 % and lowers downtime by as much. The knives are supplied in sets matched by weight, which spares the bearings of the machine. They can be sharpened several times and accept jointing. Leitz offers them in 3 mm thickness, in heights of 30 and 35 mm; they fit only tool holders with clamping wedges intended for 3 mm planing knives. They suit the usual planing machines fitted with a precision cutterblock and are used in softwoods as well as in hardwoods. Standard versions are available from stock, special ones at short notice.
