Oak Boule French Pippy Grade

Description

The French Pippy grade, known as "cat's paw", selects French oak boules and unedged boards, mostly PEFC certified, showing small sound knots gathered in clusters that resemble the print of a cat's paw. Cut from logs sawn into unedged boards then restacked into boules, cleanly debarked and trimmed, these timbers offer distinctive figure and a highly sought-after decorative effect. The timber is offered green, air-dried under cover or kiln-dried, and stored on dried profiled stickers to keep staining under control. Boules and unedged boards are strapped and identified by a barcode label. This grade is used for furniture, kitchens, decoration and fit-out. Acceptance and grading are carried out green, with a minimum volume of 5 m³ per thickness.
